Meet Nana!

Fall in love with Nana!
Nana is an 8-year-old bundle of energy with hops as big as her spirit. This resilient pup has beaten cancer and is now looking for her next big adventure with a loving, playful family.

Personality
Energetic and Playful: Despite her age, Nana has energy to spare. While she is a proficient keep-away-er, and loves a good game of not-fetching or a playful tug-of-war, Nana’s favorite thing to do is roughhouse with her human and toys. Nana is very vocal during playtime and her foster parents were initially taken-aback with her tendency to grumble, growl and bark during play.

Hoppy and Agile: Nana is the hoppiest dog her foster parents have ever had and is so endlessly full of jumps that she is lovingly referred to as a T-Rex (think- standing on hind legs with front paws in air and wrists bent). Her previous foster mom called her a “hoppy hippo”. Nana can be a bit tactless when another dog is in her way and she will often jump over or side-check her slower foster-dog sisters to get to where she wants to go. Nana has also performed impressive arial stunts to obtain toys from unsuspecting foster dogs.

Intelligent and Protective: Nana is not just any dog—she’s a survivor, a fighter, and a loyal friend. Nana loves both her foster parents, but seems more attached to dad. She will listen for him to come home and tends to follow him around the house, in and out of the house and on his errands. She is also protective of “her” bedroom in the home. She will immediately bring her toys into this room, and typically keeps them there, away from the other dogs. While she has become a big fan of cuddling on the couch and snoozing in bed, she still retreats to her room frequently just for quiet time.

Nana has been in foster homes with other female dogs from 3mo-8 yrs. Although she has gotten along with them, she's protective of her toys and food, so she would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention. Nana's ideal family will be patient in understanding her needs and provide the loving, secure environment she deserves.

Additional Extra-Cute things about Nana:
Her ears and all their shapes, sizes and directions.
Her blankies. Nana loves to be tucked into a soft blanket. She has been known to disappear under them and wear them around the house.

Why Adopt Nana?
Joyful Energy: Nana will always be happy to see you. Nana’s energy will keep you entertained and bring fun into your home.
Inspiring Story: Nana’s journey as a cancer-surviving stray from Alabama is a testament to her resilience and love of life, no matter what struggles it may bring.
Loving and Loyal Companion: Nana will be your most devoted friend, you just have to provide the snuggles, warm blankies, and lots and lots of toys.
