Nala is a beautiful 10-12 month old German Shepherd mix who arrived to us from Lake Traverse Reservation. She weighs approximately 50 pounds currently.
Nala does well with other dogs and wants to play and make friends! She loves to pounce and play chase and be chased. She gets along with smaller pups, but sometimes her energy and play style is a bit rough for them. Nala can be a bit overwhelming when first meeting pups - she can be bossy and jealous at times too. These behaviors are easily managed, but she will need a family who is willing to work with her on these. Her foster has been working with her on this.
Nala has been around cats and she wants to play and chase. She is not aggressive, just a bit overwhelming, but we do feel she would do best without cats.
Nala is a friendly girl and happy to make friends with new people! She is respectful and looks to her handler when she is unsure. Nala has been introduced to a few children and done well so far. With some puppy-ish behaviors, she will need guidance to continue to do well.
Nala is high energy and super smart. She loves to run and play and enjoys going for walks. She is used to going for 3-4 walks a day and getting regular play time as well. She loves to play with her ball and tire toys. Nala has been doing well with basic obedience and training but will need continued practice and work.
Nala has been vet checked, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. She is current on her flea/tick and heartworm medications. Nala's adoption fee is $300.
We realize that people are looking for a predominant breed or breed mixture, but visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
