Meet Myra
Maya is full of puppy exuberance. We think she was a gazelle in a previous life; she has a vertical hop that will impress! She should have a 6' fence in her new home just to be safe. She likes toys and is pretty good at fetching; she is capable of breaking the sound barrier with her fast zoomies! She'd also really like to catch a squirrel... She's very curious, happy, and athletic. She comes when called, but also loves to explore her surroundings. She learned the doggie door in less than 24 hours and takes herself outside and back in as she pleases. She's housetrained with a doggie door! She also walks nicely on a leash and sticks close to her person.
Myra weighs about 50 lbs. She is tall and lean, and would be a great adventure companion. She would be a good running or hiking buddy, and likely would do well with agility or similar activities. She's also a quiet dog, not a big barker. She'd make a good therapy or ESA dog for a woman. She loves to hang out with her person while working from home, and just likes to tuck herself under the desk and snooze; she'd be a good work buddy. She would also be a good Canine Good Citizen candidate with her gentle nature and some more confidence building. She doesn't love car rides, but is getting better with every trip and no longer gets car sick unless it's a curvy road
Maya can be startled by fast movements so a home with a bit older kids (12 and up) would be the best match for her. She would do best with other playful non-aggressive dogs, particularly males. She's quite smitten with her current foster home's two boy dogs, even snuggling with one on the first night she came into the home and nearly every night since.
Ideally, Maya's forever home would be with a woman or couple, (sorry, no single men), a fenced yard, and a younger playful male dog to play with.
Maya's being fostered in the Colorado Springs area. Please submit an adoption application today to discuss and meet and greet!
