My Story: Meet Mursey...the wonder dog! She has been featured on the local news station, at special events, and even had her own professional photo shoot. Yet still, she waits for her forever home. She's a black dog. A pit-mix. Passed over time and time again because of her "plain jane looks." Yet inside, Mursey is a ROCKSTAR!
This gal came to Pet Haven from a shelter in Minneosta, where she sat for WEEKS, unclaimed. Of all the dogs at the shelter at that time, she was the only one that they could kennel with any of the dog-friendly-dogs because she got along with them all - playful, old, little or big! Once Pet Haven had a foster home open up we jumped at the chance to take this beautiful girl!
Hobbies: Belly rubs are the BEST! And she loves to run around in the yard and chase squirrels and birds. She loves to snuggle up in the evenings (she may snore a little bit, too!).
Commands/Tricks: Mursey is a very quick learner! She knows “sit”, “come”, “wait” and “paw”. She is working on “leave it”.
Crate/Potty Trained?: Yes. Mursey will go in her kennel while her humans are at work (about 8 hours) and to sleep at night. She is potty trained.
Activity Level: Medium - She loves to play and go for long walks. But she also is very happy resting next to you on the couch or watching you cook/clean, etc.
Fun Things I Do/Quirks: Mursey has learned the art of being cute! She will wiggle around on the floor looking for a belly rub. And will offer her paw for treats or affection. Sometimes she’ll snort a little like a piggy.
Who I Currently Live With: Mursey is living with her foster mom and dad and their resident Pit Bull mix (Male). While her fosters were on vacation she lived with two labradoodles and a two year old child (in addition to adults, of course) and did great with everyone. She even got to attend their party while she was there and did GREAT with all the commotion of new people! Mursey doesn't care for cats too much (meaning NONE!) so will need to go to a feline-free home.
My Ideal Family: Mursey will do best with a family that will give her a walk/run every day. She’d like to be able to snuggle with you every day too! She would not be good with a cat, but does well with other dogs. She is very smart, and would really benefit from ongoing training.
Mursey will be attending Pet Haven's adoption events. Her adoption fee is $25 during the month of December in honor of the Bring Joy Holiday Campaign (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
