Hi I’m Moxley! I’m approximately 4 years old as of August 2024 and I’m ready to find my forever home. All of my friends at the shelter say I’m the most gentle, laid back, sweet boy! I would really love a home with someone who has a lot of time to spend with me because I LOVE to be with people. I would prefer to be the only pet in the home. I have great leash walking skills and I’d love to find a friend to enjoy life with. Please adopt me!
Moxley spent a few days in a foster home riding out Tropical Storm Debby.
His foster parents say...
“Sorry if this is long winded but he deserves much more than a few sentences. Hopefully all this typing reflects how much of an impact he's made on me.
If I could summarize Moxley, I'd say he's one of the best mannered dogs I've ever come across... and I've owned and cared for dogs for about 15 years now. Labs, pits, boxers, malti-poos, etc. He's not at table begging for food, not digging in the trash or barking up a storm, even when we're gone. You won't hear much of a peep out of him besides when he's in dreamland yelping at the sheep.
He's the perfect pet for someone that wants some company and security but might not be the most experienced with training, like someone that might be new to the area or lives alone. Moxley has some minor trust issues but it doesn't take long to earn his trust as long as you're patient with him. Clearly well taken care of in your hands, no trauma you have to overcome from "being in the system" or extensive adjustment period. This is my first time fostering and I'm really happy I was able to spend time with Moxley and learn through him. He just minds his business and hangs out with his favorite humans. I love this guy and hope he can find an even more loving home to help protect and share his love. I'd take him myself if breed restrictions weren't so harsh, which is sad because he's anything but "aggressive". Peaceful protector is the best way to describe him.”
