Monty Yellow Labrador Retriever Golden, CO

Monty is an exuberant, active puppy-ish one year old yellow Lab with a zest for life! This beautiful boy is a trim 62 pounds and comes to us after spending two months in a crowded shelter. “Kinda hard being cooped up and overlooked like that, but I never lost hope!” he woofs. Our volunteer who met Monty remarks: “I love this guy!”

Monty relishes life in his foster home where he can explore and play the day away with all his dog pals, big and small, young and old. He is a young Lab who loves people, treats and has an eager-to-please personality. Monty is crate trained and house trained, knows sit, his name and is a most enthusiastic greeter. Four-on-the-floor needs work for this pup who has never met a stranger! He rides well crated in the car and pulls like a champ on leash, so a front clip type harness is best. Don’t know about cats.

Monty has a kind temperament and spirit. If you’re an active Lab lover with patience, a sense of humor and who would enjoy an enthusiastic young Lab who’s working on being the best he can be with positive oriented training, Monty’s your pup! He mentioned he would really like another playful dog in his forever home, and that he loves to chase a ball (not so much bringing it back though) and that swimming is a fave too!

So grab a leash and some tasty treats, and make a date to meet Monty soon. "I'll try to sit and stay 'til you get here!" wags Monty. "Don't be too long though . . . I can't wait to meet you, play a little and then head on home together! "
