Meet Montoya

Available for adoption!!!

Meet Montoya or, as I call him, Toya. A 2 year old sensative beautiful soft timid soul. He and his brother were dumped in a cornfield in horrible shape. Not only feral and fearful but malnourished, thin, and dealing with mange. Everything they were dealing with set them back.

While Inigo is more confident and outgoing, Montoya lacks, but with nurturing, patience, loving, and a gentle touch, he can overcome it all. Montoya is easily pleased. He is very dog friendly, but he must feel safe and comfortable to share his beautiful for-life personality.

Montoya is our gentle sweet boy. He is friendly with all dogs of all sizes and ages and respectful of cats and rabbits. He lives with them all including farm critters. All which he happily respectfully coexist with.

Montoya gravitates to calmer, confident, assertive, playful dogs. He is a follower and will need a dog in the home to continue to overcome his timid unsure nature. Montoya loves to snuggle and cuddle and is somewhat clingy. He is a go-with-the-flow kinda of buddy. He just wishes to love and be loved. Strives to please and finds comfort in human affection. A soft touch makes him glow. Nurturing leadership is his love language and best ability to learn. Montoya is very food and affection-motivated. Enjoys both equally. Toys too! Response to all as long as it's fueleded with love. Montoya is a great easy simple friendly dog with the ability to connect with your soul. Give him the chance and he will not disappoint. Montoya does well on car rides. During walks. Drive through for the occasional cheeseburger or pup cup. Montoya is looking for his soul human to love unconditionally. With Montoya patience and nurturing is everything.

Unless you're going to commit to a lifetime of effort requiring hands-on DAILY EXERCISE and work. PLEASE consider ADOPTing a dog that's best compatible with your current capabilities and lifestyle. Looks should never be the only factor when adding a family pet/member to the home.

I'm not pursuing a miracle home, I'm searching for a committed, responsible, healthy, loving, preferably experienced forever home. Please do your research before applying. This is your responsibility to do so.

Montoya is house and crate-trained and walks great on and off-leash. His recall is good. With me, it's excellent. Montoya loves people. All people. Montoya is up to date on 1 or 3 years of all age-appropriate core vaccines including lepto, and corona, as well as the rabies vaccine, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped with free lifetime registration, and unlimited updated info ability at no additional fee, spay/neutered, heartworm lyme tested negative within 6 -12 months and current on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention year round.

Montoya is still available for adoption. But I am in no rush to place him or any dog. It must be a good fit. My expectations are definite, and I'm not compromising their needs, much less their safety. However, I am always willing to discuss individual requests.

Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. We do NOT ship, and a minimum of 2 meet and greet is required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter. Adoption fees are paid only upon adoption. Do not send any money. Anyone asking you, too, is not part of our organization.

Previous AHR adopters have the first choice and are not expected to pay another adoption fee again. However, a donation of their choice is expected welcomed and appreciated.

Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a purity setting them up for success.

Adoption process information and adoption application can be found on our website AdoptAHRescue.org or email us at animalhrs@gmail.com
