Monica is a beautiful 4-year-old hound mix with a heart of gold. Despite her gentle nature and unwavering loyalty, she’s been waiting far too long for the right family to give her a chance. Monica is a large, loving girl who enjoys long walks, cuddle time, and soaking up all the love she can get.

Her adoption fee has been lowered to help her find a home, but sadly, she keeps getting passed up for younger dogs. Monica may not be a puppy, but she’s got so much love to offer and is ready to make up for lost time.

This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.
