Meet Molly
Molly came to us from Mexico. She was a mess (See "before" photo.) It broke my heart to see how neglected she was. She has since had a grooming. We needed to shave her down to her skin to get rid of the mats and dirt.
Molly looks more Poodle than anything. She is middle-sized, with really long legs. Her tail curls, which is why I am guessing, she has Shih-Tzu in her. We can't be sure.
In spite of her condition when she was rescued, Molly is a friendly sweet girl. Who knows how long she was out on the street on her own. She's only been here 6 days and it's very interesting to see how she is transforming.
She appears to be potty trained. She's learned to use my doggy door.
She is very playful, and she loves those rope toys with knots at the ends. She wants me to play fetch with her and she does retrieve toys for me. She will fetch a tennis ball, or anything else you throw for her. She loves her Lambchop. She amuses herself if you are too busy, but she loves it when her human interacts with her.
She learned to fetch and return a tennis ball just by watching my Bull dog do it!
Very smart and a quick learner.
She appears to understand Spanish. When I say sientese, she sits.
She has a good appetite and is happy to eat her food. She learns fast and I think she'll walk on a leash. She does not get up on the furniture at all, and I have left her to sleep where she wants. She started out in her crate, with an open door, but by Thursday she had wandered down the hall and now sleeps on a loveseat in my bedroom.
I feel she needs to be with another dog about her size and age, that will play with her. She scares easily, and when she's scared, she shrieks, which makes her an instant target for other dogs. She would be happiest with a smaller dog, or no dog.
My other dogs are all fairly old, and they don't play much. I think Molly might be a little younger than she was reported to be. I think she's between 2 and 3 years old.
I think this girl could be an incredibly loyal companion. She follows me around now. She isn't demanding, she just wants to be near me.
She does like to bark when she goes outside. She barked too much the second and third day she was here, but surprisingly she has calmed down and she is hardly doing it now. She stops when you tell her to stop. I only mention it because settling in to a new home, I want her new owner to be warned the first couple of days with any new dog can be interesting. It usually takes anywhere from a week to 6 weeks for a new dog's personality to come out.
She is a gentle soul in spite of her beginnings.
I will be looking for someone with dog experience who is home enough to give her the love she deserves. She is very special.
Molly will require a large secure and shady back yard.
We do require a home visit and an application completely filled out.
