Meet Mojo

Introducing Mojo! Mojo is a 16-year-old mixed small breed gentleman. Mojo came to ARAR when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him.

Mojo is curious and confident and sweet! He loves going for brisk walks with frequent sniffing stops. When he's not exploring, he enjoys curling up next to you or catching up on his rest.

Mojo is fully house broken. He does not use a crate and is fine to free roam even when he's home alone for several hours. He's hard of hearing, so he doesn't respond to commands. That's no big deal though because he is well mannered and eager to please. He has not lived with other dogs, cats, or children, but his interactions with them so far have been respectful. Mojo does okay in the car (he'd prefer to sit in the driver's lap but we're working on getting him comfortable as a passenger for safety).

Nobody believes that Mojo is 16 when they meet him! He looks like a puppy and he still has great energy! However, his future adopter should know that he does have some health conditions. He has a heart murmur that is currently asymptomatic. He also has early kidney disease and although he does not currently require any medications, he may benefit from a special diet. Mojo is also prone to bladder infections because he is not neutered. Mojo will need professional grooming on a regular basis.

Mojo would love a home with an active person, couple, or family (children over age 10) who can provide consistent daily walks. He does fine when left home alone, but he prefers the company of others, so it would be great if someone was home with him most of the time. He needs someone who is committed to his care and making his retirement as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible.

If you have a soft spot in your heart for senior dogs and believe you could love and spoil Mojo for the rest of his life, please submit an application to adopt!
