MINNIE, SPECIAL NEEDS Border Terrier & Cairn Terrier Mix PLANO, TX

Minnie is a SPECIAL NEEDS case. Until she trusts you, which doesn’t take long, she has significant behavioral problems (snarling, growling, snapping, barking, she will fear bite and she can sometimes be resource protective). She came from a situation of EXTREME neglect; she was kept outside 24/7 and starved. Therefore, she's VERY fearful of people at first, but once she trusts you, she's the sweetest, most loving dog, but, because she's SO fearful, she needs an EXPERIENCED adopter who will GO SLOW and allow her to build trust. She is usually at our adoption events on Saturdays. She gets along with other dogs although she doesn’t really play with them. She will do best as an only dog. She doesn’t seem to mind cats. She bonds STRONGLY to one person, so she will do best in a one person home. With the person she trusts, she’s EXTREMELY affectionate. She loves to be picked up and held and she loves to give kisses and get belly rubs and go on walks.
