Minnie German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Minnie aka Missy is a far cry from the emaciated girl we rescued back in May! She came to us from CACC after being found as a stray. Missy is a young girl about 2-3 years old and has a zest for life! She weighed just 30 lbs and is now at 48 lbs! Missy does have EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency), a digestive disorder as a result of the pancreas not producing enough enzymes. She will require enzymes daily with her food for the rest of her life. The good news is she’s stable and this is a fairly common condition seen with GSDs.

Missy has so many wonderful qualities! She is currently fostered with a male GSD, two small dogs, and cats! Yes you read that right — we have a cat friendly GSD! Minnie is housebroken and loves her crate! She is an energetic girl and would love a backyard she can play in. Minnie can be a tad shy when you first meet her but she warms up very nicely. She loves toys and is a bit of a toy hog ?. Missy hasn’t been around children, but we think she’d do well. Her foster mom says she’d be a great agility dog — she loves to jump and is a bouncy girl!
