Minnie Shih Tzu Mauston, WI

Did you know? The Shih Tzu’s name translates to “Lion dog” and this amazing breed originated in Tibet over 1000 years ago!
Minnie is a sweet Shih tzu who is around 7-8 years old. This funny little girl weighs about 15lbs and is just the right size to sit in your lap. Minnie came to us along with her friend Pearl from a less than stellar background, and is learning all about the good things life has to offer, like nutritious food and plenty of warm beds. Although she gets along great with Pearl, the two are not tightly bonded and can be separated. Minnie very much wants to be petted and cuddled, but she isn’t always sure how to ask for attention. She appreciates being talked to and once she is comfortable with you, she is a wiggler and a kisser. Bright and attentive to her handler, this fun loving little lady seems to always keep an eye on her people. She has gotten along great with other dogs, and after a meet and greet is done she would probably relish the company of a doggie friend. She is going to need a family who provides adequate care for her coat and will ensure she sees a groomer regularly. Minnie needs a little more vet care before she can go home, but potential adopters are encouraged to get their application submitted right away. A girl this awesome won’t be here for long!

If you are interested in adopting an animal after viewing it an adoption Application should be filled out and left with the volunteers. Once the Adoption Application is reviewed and a background check is done someone from the shelter will be in contact with you.
