NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS - NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
NEW INTAKE 11/5/2024: Mindee - female - approx 12 years old - 4.15 pounds - Chihuahua
Reason for intake: Mindee came to us from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter after being surrendered there by a good Samaritan who found her in a deep water-filled culvert at a busy intersection. Watch video: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/ogZsrFRHuE5BV3NZ/
Horrible that someone possibly dumped her in the culvert hoping the waters would sweep her away. We hope that is NOT what happened, but we see every day what humans are capable of doing to the innocent. Mindee went through stray hold and she'll be heading to our vet the week of 11/11/2024, for everything she needs. Stay tuned.
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.416768288349589&type=3 OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
