Meet Mikey
Mikey is a 5.5 month old neutered male Aussie/Heeler mix. He currently weighs 35 lbs. Mikey is doing great in his foster home learning commands and manners. from his foster - "Mikey is a smart boy who loves to learn and engage with his handler. He is food motivated and knows sit and down. We have started to work in place work, stay, and shake. He is excellent in the crate. Crates quietly during the day (I have checked the cameras to verify when we are not home) and crates overnight without accidents or making a peep. He doesn’t get up until you wake up to let him out. He is doing great with potty training, he will go to the door when he needs to potty. He likes toys and doesn’t appear to be a destructive chewer, he can have all kinds of toys. He is a puppy and will pick up things he’s not supposed to have (mostly shoes) but has hasn’t chewed anything and is easily corrected - I just tell him “out” and take the item. He hasn’t shown any signs of resource guarding when it comes to toys/treats. He does eat on the faster side so I have been using a slow feeder/snuffle mat to feed him. He gets along well with my dog and is good with kids. He’s on the gentle side and isn’t a jumpy puppy. He’s quiet and doesn’t appear to bark much - I haven’t seen any signs of alert barking. He’s decent on leash, he will just need to fine tune his leash skills but he doesn’t pull and I have been using a flat collar to walk him. He can be cautious of new places in the outside would but small words of encouragement get him moving. He recently went on an outing and was cautious of all the people but did well navigating the crowds and was not reactive around some pretty reactive dogs. He was a 10/10 good boy. Said hello to some toddlers and was sweet.
He is medium energy, he likes to play and be active but will also settle and hang out on the couch as well." He is a wonderful boy looking for his furever home - is it with you? Get your application in, or if you're pre-approved, reach out to schedule your meet and greet!
