Meet Boomer

Boomer is a 6-month-old American Foxhound mix. A DNA test on his sibling shows Husky mixed in. Of course, Dad didn’t stick around long enough to be identified.

Boomer loves a good nap and loves his belly rubs. He would do very well with a playmate that can deal with high-energy play and a fenced yard. Whether it be two-legged or four-legged he would love it. He loves to play with his toys and gnaw on an antler. Boomer is crate trained but may bark a bit as he'd rather be out and about, who could blame him? He sleeps all night in his crate and is housebroken. He is just a love bug!

The puppies were born on Jan 13, 2023. They were found with their mom in an abandoned house in NC. They soon found their way to Puppy Paws, where their amazing foster family has lovingly cared for them.

Please Note:

Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than 1-hour drive from listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. There is an additional spay/neuter deposit for an adopter within one hour who does not have a current or prior good vet record.

Pup cannot be left alone for more than 5-6 hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much-needed socialization for a pup this age.

We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. You MUST contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us BEFORE we call them to verify the care you have provided for your pets.

Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). PLEASE CHECK your SPAM folder for emails from Puppy Paws Rescue.

Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame. Our rescue is an all-volunteer team managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews, home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you are courteous and patient with us.

If you’re seeing this listing the dog/puppy is still available. Please do not send an inquiry asking if the dog/puppy is available.

All of our dogs/puppies are kept in private foster homes. For this reason, we do not schedule meets until after an application has been processed and approved. If you’re interested in meeting the animal, you must first submit an application on our website- www.puppypawsrescue.org.
