Meet Merlot
Meet Merlot, a 6–8-year-old miniature dachshund with a stunning Merle coat and a heart full of sweetness! This playful girl loves spending time with her canine friends and will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates her charm and gentle nature.
Merlot is currently in the process of being fully vetted, including spay, so she’ll be ready to join her forever family soon.
Due to the dachshund breed’s long spine, Merlot would thrive best in a home with older children or no children to help ensure her health and safety. If you’re looking for a loving, playful addition to your life, Merlot is ready to wine and wag her way into your heart!
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!
2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.
3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)
4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
