Meet Megan (aka Mama)
This unique dog is Megan - a mixed breed currently available from All Dogs Come From Heaven Rescue.
She may be a feist mix with perhaps some Dutch shepherd herding dog thrown in... only a DNA test will tell.
She has a unique dark gray brindle coat, is medium-sized, smart, affectionate and loves to explore, sniff, and pretend she's hunting even though she's just going for a walk on a leash.
Her remarkable story is she came into the rescue with puppies which she raised and THEN, while still in mother-mode, she was able to nurse a small litter of orphaned puppies which she cared for just as she had cared for her own. All of her original and orphan puppies have been adopted (except one) and have left the shelter. Megan is still waiting for a home of her own. Meanwhile, she continues to be a favorite of the rescue volunteers. She will make someone an incredibly loyal companion.
Megan is a midsized girl - around 34lbs (full grown) and is about 2-3 years old.
She is good with most dogs when properly introduced and is very playful and bounch - she is GREAT with people!
