Meego Plott Hound Mix Grand Bay, AL

Meet Meego... He and his brother Meelo are the second longest residents here at Wags and Whiskers. Sadly, they have grew up with us and have been with up right at 3 years. This sweet boy and his siblings came to us as 10 week old pups from a high kill shelter where they were at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding crowding. The day we got them sadly the whole litter broke with parvo. Thankfully, the virus was caught early and all three beat it. We believe these babies are plott hound/terrier mixes They are 3 years old and around 40ish lbs. Both Meego and Meego are super sweet and playful. They are both timid in new situations. They are pups that will require patience to settle into a new family! They are great with dogs. Meelo doesn’t mind cats either. Meego is good with cats inside but will chase if they run outside. Small children will probably intimidate them. We truly feel the brothers will do best spilt up. Meego is very dominate over Meelo. He hasn’t been dominate with others just s brother. Meego is still very leary of new people. He likely will need a few meets before being comfortable and will take several weeks to settle in a new environment. He loves his foster family and is completely comfortable there so we know he can and will adjust. Meego is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and altered.

All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs.

Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up.

Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact Parkway Animal Hospital as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue.
