Mayzee Chihuahua & Pug Mix Kokomo, IN

Meet Mayzee!! I am Mayzee, a 1-year-old breed mix of beagle, pug, yorkie, chihuahua, dachshund, and then some. Mayzee is fully grown at 13 pounds. OOhlordy! This girl is as ornery as one can be. She is active, outgoing, and overly confident within her surroundings. Good, hilariously fun, sweet, cuddly, nurturing, and soft. She, too, is annoyingly happy and mischievously goofy. Her will to explore, be involved, and drive to satisfy her curiosity requires patience and solid humor. She is NOSEY!!! SHE IS ACTIVE SHE IS A TOMBOY! She is heart!!!

Mayzee is one of the boys. She is squirmy. Accepting comfort and affection until she is ready to go go go. And then keep on going. She plays as rough as the boys 3x her size. She annoys the hell out of MOSTbut they all take it. She fits easily in any pack. It seems she takes the role of the annoyingly baby sister who always tags along. She is that annoying little sister one gets stuck with who doesn't understand her size. Her curiosity gets the best of her. She's a little badass. A beast personality. Mayzee is a menace. Active but not hyper, not always, and easily settles down. She has medium active energy on the low end. Thank God she has a downside. A shut-off valve. An off switch. Mayzee is cat, dog, rabbit, bird, farm, critter, turtle, and reptile friendly. People are ok too. She is quiet until she is not. Once comfortable, it's over. She is happy, healthy, curious, and balanced. She enjoys snuggles, cuddles comfort until she's over it. Mayzee is a fun dog. She can be rambunctious at times. Being fun means everything is possible.

Mayzee is extremely smart, by far the smartest of all. She is very food praise motivated but has the attention span of a pencil unless she's interested. Only available as needed. Mayzee is house and crate-trained. She walks excellently on a leash, and her off-leash recall is great until her stubbornness kicks in, and even then, it's fairly awesome and safe. A solid, secure fence in the yard is best.
But just as it is known, she, when she desires, can climb over any fence with the ability to climb. 3 ft is her capacity. So anything over is safe. Mayzee needs another playful patient balance dog or 6 in the home.

She is not hyper, just crazy smart. An active home with lots of love and simple fun would be great. Lots of toys. Toys. Bunch of toys!

• Heartworm tested Negative.
•Receive monthly Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Prevention.

• Dewormed and Fecal tested Negative.
• All testing completed within 6 -12 months.
•All age-appropriate needs (blood work, dental, testing, and meds)
• Lifetime Microchip Registration includes free unlimited updates.
•Feed a quality protein diet

Adoption Processing:
•Adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks.
• A minimum of 2 Meet & Greets are required before adopting.
•A home check needs to take place.
• Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense.
• We Do NOT ship any of our adoptable pets.
• Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption
•No exchange or request for money is required before adoption.
•No payment plans.

AHRS Former Adopter:
• No adoption fee is required; a donation of choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated.

Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a purity setting them up for success.
