Meet The Marvelous Miss Maple!

THE BASICS:
-Female
-Approx. 3 to 5 years old
-UTD on all shots
-Spayed
-Microchipped
-House trained
-Potty trained
-Crate trained (also does well outside the crate)
-Dog and cat friendly with proper and SLOW introductions
-Has completed HW treatment and is on a monthly preventative
-Can transport out of Texas for the right home

About Maple:
Maple was found wandering outside in the parking lot of Harris County Pets (presumably dumped by her owner). The staff tried for two weeks to catch her, but she was too scared to let any of them get close. One of our rescue volunteers happened to be at HCP and spotted Maple as she was leaving. With a little patience and some luck, our volunteer was able to win Maple over with special treats. Once she was leashed, she jumped right in our volunteer’s car like she had done it a thousand times! She has been the sweetest girl ever since!

Maple is estimated to be around 3 to 5 years old, which means she's the perfect blend of youthful exuberance and settled maturity. With her soulful eyes and endearing personality, she's the complete package!

Personality:
Maple might come across as a little shy at first, but it won't take long for her to warm up to you. Once she feels safe and loved, she blossoms into a sweet, playful, goofy, affectionate companion who adores hugs and playtime. She'll be your loyal shadow, always ready to share your affection.

Compatibility:
Maple is not just a human’s best friend; she's also quite the diplomat when it comes to her feline counterparts. She's cat-friendly, but introductions should be slow to ensure harmony in the home. Maple currently lives in a foster home with four other dogs. Although she is on crate rotation—her foster siblings are very rambunctious—she has enjoyed walks with them and has shown no signs of disapproval. However, since she is a shy girl, she most likely would do best with a low-key dog that understands personal space.

Favorite Pastimes:
Maple, like most introverts, is a playful and goofy girl who loves to have a good time with those she trusts. Her favorite games include fetch and tug-of-war. Maple also loves going on walks and has great leash manners. Get ready for hours of fun and laughter as you bond with this silly and spirited companion. She's got a zest for life that's contagious! However, Maple also loves to cuddle and will curl up on the couch (sometimes right on top of you) for an afternoon nap or movie night.

Ideal Home:
Maple is a medium-to-large dog who would thrive in a home with a loving family with older children (she is a hugger, so small children may get knocked over) or a dedicated individual who can provide her with the attention, exercise, and companionship she craves. A secure yard for playtime and exploration would be a bonus.

All PETronus Rescue dogs receive basic vaccinations (distemper/parvo, bordetella, & rabies), spay/ neuter, and microchip prior to adoption. We also treat any know medical issues, including heartworms.

Our dogs live in foster homes while they wait patiently for their forever families to find them. This is beneficial in that they learn house manners, crate training, housebreaking, etc while they wait and we are also able to get a very realistic picture of their energy level, temperament, etc so that we can place them in a home that is the best fit.

Our adoption fees are $200 for dogs over 1 year of age and $250 for dogs under 1 year of age. Puppies receive 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations.

We are located in Houston, TX, but transport dogs to adopters out of state for an additional transport fee of $250.
