Meet Maize
Name: Maize
Age: 5 years old
Breed: Husky
Gender: female
Weight: 55 lbs
Energy Level: medium
Color/Markings: black and white with the prettiest ice blue eyes!
Good with other dogs: yes! Can be a little unappreciative of new dogs in her space, so no dog parks please!
Good with cats: yes, after slow intros
Good with other animals: yes, though she is not allowed in with our horses (none of the dogs are, for safety)
Homes with children considered: yes
Special needs: none!
Medications: None
My Past: My owner dropped me off at the vet to have me put down. The vet saw how wonderful and healthy I was and couldn’t do it, so asked the owner if they would surrender me to a rescue… and now I am at Bella Run!
Likes: butt scratches, walks, and snakkos, yes please!
Dislikes: nothing really, I'm pretty agreeable!
My ideal home: would have people that like going on walks. I am a husky, after all, so I'm not exactly a couch potato... despite my chonky physique. I walk BEAUTIFULLY on a leash, am comfortable and calm in a crate, don't scream like a psycho, and am the perfect combo of party and chill! I am perfectly crate trained, love Kongs with peanut butter, and am not vocal like a lot of Husky-type dogs. I currently run the farm with my friends all day, and I don’t cause any drama. Self sufficient and well behaved, you won’t even know I’m here… until dinner time, when I hear my kibble hit the bowl and I make a beeline from wherever I am! They say I’m the best Husky they’ve ever known… maybe I’ll find my home soon!
How to Adopt from Bella Run Equine:
1. Reach out to us with a brief paragraph about you and what you are looking for in a dog. If you are interested in a particular dog, let us know that.
2. We will then send you an adoption application to fill out (this takes 5 minutes for most people).
3. The thing that slows us down when approving people is obtaining their vet reference. If you call your vet and have them email a recommendation to us at bellarunadoptions@gmail.com, it speeds up the process so much. A good vet recommendation will include your current pets on file, their vaccination status, and whether you provide recommended vet care to your animals.
4. Once you are approved, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. This means that you will need to drive to us with your children and current dogs to meet the potential adoptable dog.
5. Since you are already pre-approved at this point, you can choose to take the dog home with you that day if you wish (and if we determine that it is a good fit, we reserve the right to deny any adoption at any time based on suitability)
*The best way to contact us is to text us at 740-707-0793 or email us at bellarunadoptions@gmail.com with the dog’s name in the subject line.*
