Meet Maise Milford
Maisie has had a hard row to hoe for many years, but her luck has just made an abrupt about face. By some stroke of fortune, she is NOT heartworm positive, but she IS Lymes positive. That will be taken care of with a month long course of Doxycycline, but she's obviously had one pregnancy after another and may need further vetting once she's settled and we have her fully assessed. She still needs to be spayed.
For all her former trials, lack of food was not one of them and Maizie should lose a few pounds. She is sweet as can be. She trembled and shook during her photo shoot, clearly scared, but although her tail was down, the tip wagged furiously. She clearly loved being handled and petted and when the aggressive sounding dog on the other side of the fence charged, she didn't bat an eye. One suspects that if she were living life on her own terms, she would have cuffed him on the ear and had a come-to-Jesus meeting with his mother.
Maizie is used to living with other dogs and wouldn't mind a canine friend, but would probably be OK as a coddled only child. She's earned it. Sweet, sweet girl!
