Maggie Black Labrador Retriever Mix Zachary, LA

Maggie is a beautiful approx. 18 month old lab mix. She weighs less than 25 pounds, but is slowly gaining a few more pounds. However, she is a young adult dog, so we don't anticipate that she'll get much larger. Maggie will make the perfect pet for a young family. She's around a year old but still very puppy-like. She is very playful, but also loves to settle in for a good snuggle & nap on the sofa with her foster mom. She's highly food motivated & very eager to please. She loves to wrestle, chase balls and play "keep away" with her foster doggie brother and sister. She's curious about cats and would love to play, but takes the warnings seriously and tends to just steer clear for the most part. She's not a chewer and has never been destructive, but one of her favorite games
is to hide and seek with our shoes around the house. She sleeps well on her own and enjoys getting up early with her foster family to get the day started with breakfast and playtime. Maggie is up-to-date on all of her vaccines, spayed (or comes with a prepaid spay certificate) & microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. History: Maggie had a rough start in this world. She was found tied to a tree, starving, and in the bitter cold. She was rescued by a good samaritan (her foster dad) and is now working on learning how to live her best life! She's such a sweet
girl and has bounced back amazingly! She's playful and cuddly and gets along well with her foster sibs, both human and animal. Despite spending her early days tied outside, she has never had a single accident in the house. Like many of our rescues, Maggie is heartworm positive, but is asymptomatic. She has been started on the slow-kill treatment protocol, but as always, we recommend that you check with your veterinarian for any recommended treatments.

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED for her new furever family we require the following:

*Her adopter needs a fully secure/fenced yard.
* Experienced pet home with verifiable vet references/history preferred, but we realize that everyone has to start somewhere, so all applications will be considered.
*Verifiable good veterinary history INCLUDING regular vaccination/visits and Good Heartworm Prevention history is a MUST!
*Adopter must be able to have time to spend with the pup and be able to provide the pup a safe environment to live.
*ALL our dogs are expected to be primarily INSIDE dogs. They MUST sleep inside the home. We truly understand that some folks have working dogs (i.e. farmers, ranchers,etc); however, the majority of our dogs have had tough life prior to rescue & we wish to ensure they are showered with LUV & maybe even a bit spoiled for the rest of their lives.

Other facts are also considered, including whether children or other pets are a good fit with the dog.

Must Luv Dogs reserves the right to deny any applications that we don't think are a good fit with the pup. Our first & foremost concern is the dog's best interest. It is our MISSION to place them in a home that is a great fit for their needs for a lifetime of luv & being part of a family.

*We will consider adoptions in any area; however, will do not ship or transport a puppy under the age of 12 mos. We will ONLY transport an adult dog on a transport approved by MLD, at adopter's expense.

Please note that all of our pets are in private foster homes. In order to reduce any stress or confusion for our pups, we require a completed, approved application BEFORE setting up a meeting for any of fur-babies.
