Meet Mack!

A charming eight-year-old Terrier mix from Evanston, IL, whose lively spirit and inquisitive nature are wrapped in a stunning black and tan coat.

Mack is a super-smart, high-energy little guy who loves to play and have fun! He's got a soft spot for chewing his little Lamb Chop toys and delights in squeaking his pink ball while eagerly awaiting breakfast. Trained in obedience, Mack knows commands like "sit," "shake," "down," "off," "back up," "wait," and "okay." He thrives on routine and structure, making him a joy to engage with when stimuli are controlled.

Despite his playful and affectionate demeanor, Mack has a sensitive side. He experiences anxiety and can be easily triggered by various stimuli, including other dogs, groups of people, and sudden noises. He has had a few non-vicious biting incidents related to his anxiety and protective instincts, but these have been managed effectively with consistent rules and a calm environment.

Mack’s ideal new home would be in a suburban or rural setting, complete with a fenced-in yard where he can explore safely without the stress of neighboring dogs. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only home or with grown children who understand his need for patience and space. A quieter neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, would suit him perfectly. Mack could do well with one other small dog, especially if they have a gentle temperament like his current terrier mix “sister".

Mack is neutered, microchipped, house-trained, and up to date on his vaccinations. His health is robust, and he does not have any medical conditions that require special care. When left alone for short periods, Mack enjoys finding a warm patch of sun or curling up on his blanket for a restful nap.

Mack is great at melting hearts! He has a way of gazing into your eyes and placing his paw gently on your arm or leg to ask for a scratch, instantly forging a deep connection. His insatiable curiosity about the world and affectionate nature make him easy to fall in love with!
