Meet Mabel (Courtesy)
Mabel's foster mom decided to keep her. (Oct 4, 2011 email)
Mabel is an 11-year-old Chesapeake Retriever who's wonderful with children and people. She is sweet, gentle, low-energy, and easy-going.
Mabel is in foster care, where she enjoys lazy days around the house, nice walks and going to work with her foster "dad." She also visits a nursing home, where she does well due to her calm demeanor. However, her foster home cannot keep her much longer, so we're hoping to find her a wonderful forever home soon. A typical day for Mabel: she just basically sleeps, likes short walks, loves the car and FOOD. She is VERY VERY VERY good with people and children. She was at the vet the other day and was licking the vet's face.
Mabel is from a family with 3 children. Sadly, her family chose to give her up when they moved abroad. She will come with all vet records, and has been well cared for. Mabel would do best as an only pet, or with a low-energy, well-socialized dog.
For info on Mabel, please contact foster mom Leslie Hines at blend@optonline.net or 203-761-8877 or 203-247-5092.
