Lyra is a beautiful, smart and sensitive companion. Her theme song is “Ready for Love” by Bad Company – she is SO ready to give her heart to her very own family! It takes lots of impressive words to properly describe this girl. Sweet. Loving. Active (with an off switch). Goofy. Athletic. Engaged. FUN!

She’s a one-year-old, 45#, German Shepherd, Malamute, Lab and Husky mix (yes, we did her DNA!) who enjoys all kinds of different activities. Playing with her foster canine brother. Chasing balls (and sometimes bringing them back). Tug-of-war with a rope. Swimming! The ideal home for Lyra shares her personality traits and lives life just like she does; they believe in staying active in a variety of ways. They want a smart dog that likes to solve puzzles and learn. They want a dog that will be a cherished family member.

Lyra appreciates calm, clear guidance and consistency to help her know what behaviors are desired and to build trust in her people. Once given time to connect, she loves with her whole being. Her main objective is to make her people proud and spend lots of time together. Spending time together makes her day better and she loves to make her people laugh at her antics. Key to her heart is a physically fenced yard: more space to show off her inner goofball!

After a good play/exercise session, Lyra happily settles with a yummy chew. She easily chills in her crate or hangs in your home office while you work. Lyra is well socialized with other dogs and enjoys their company. She is happily living with a male dog; they play and relax together with ease. Best in a home without kitties. Can live with older kids. Walks well on leash and is learning that pulling does not allow her to advance forward.

Lyra is being fostered in Champlin, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Lyra's adoption fee is $400 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
