Lylla is a wonderful dog that has been in our rescue program for a few months. We can’t believe she hasn’t been adopted yet. Please read and share Lylla's story from her foster family:

We’d like to share the heartwarming story of a remarkable mama named Lylla. She is on the search for her forever home and a family to call her own.

Lylla is not just another beautiful young dog; she has a rescue tale that exemplifies resilience, hope and love. Her rescue journey began when she crossed paths with her foster mom who was volunteering at a spay/neuter clinic in Cross Lake Manitoba.

Amidst the harsh winter conditions, Lylla was a tough girl, scavenging for food and shelter while also nursing her adorable 4 puppies. Braving the severe cold, her determination to care for her little ones moved us all. Luckily, with assistance from the Manitoba Animal Alliance and Flights for Hope, we arranged safe passage for Lylla and her puppies to our rescue, paving the way for a brighter future.

Adaptable and intelligent, Lylla has navigated her transition from the struggles of outdoor life to the warmth of a caring home environment with admirable ease. She's a quick learner, now fully housetrained—patiently waiting by the door when it’s time to go out—and while crate training is still a work in progress, she's showing promising improvements.

Lylla's sociable nature is evident in her interactions with the other dogs at her foster home, where she relishes playful romps and energetic frolics. Given her vivacious spirit, we believe she would thrive with an equally dynamic family, where she may also enjoy the companionship of another playful canine. She has been spending some time at a doggy daycare where she gets to play and interact with several other dogs. She’s really enjoyed the experience and it has been a great opportunity to increase her socialization with other dogs. Lylla needs a home without any small animals as she does have a prey drive.

With a love for walks, an eagerness to please, and a propensity for learning driven by her fondness for treats, Lylla has mastered many basic commands. She is on the lookout for someone who is willing to continue guiding her with patience, love, and the positive reinforcement she responds to so well.

Adding to her readiness for adoption, Lylla has been fully vetted and microchipped. Now, all she needs is a home where she can share her boundless love and joy. We are looking for a home with a fully fenced secure backyard for her to freely run, no apartments for this lady. As she was an outdoor dog, she requires lots of exercise and stimulation.

Lylla is an active dog who would do best in a detached house with a secure back yard. She loves to spend time outdoors so an apartment is not suitable.
Lylla has a strong prey drive so no cats or small animals. She is approximately 2 years old and weighs 45 pounds.
