Luna is in Maine! German Shepherd Dog Portland, ME

Luna's dob is 3/17/18. She currently weighs 45 lbs, Luna is smart, outgoing, and active! She needs stimulation - both physical and mental. She would LOVE to be the apple of her family's eye and be their only dog!

As a typical shepherd, she loves to be with her people. She has worked with many trainers and has all of her basic commands down. We are looking for an adopter who has previous shepherd experience or similar experience working with a herding breed. She will need structure and boundaries in her forever home. We do feel that any potential kids in her adoptive home should be older.


Luna was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), a few years ago. This initially resulted in a 10 lb weight loss. She is now on a daily medication along with a special diet and doing fantastic! This will need to continue in her new home, to maintain her health!


She has been going to doggy daycare at Charlie's Friends and she has so many friends - human, canine, and even feline! She has been exposed to cats and has done well with them.

Luna loves snuggling with blankets and being lazy on a cozy dog bed. She enjoys the various smells of the city. She can be a bit nervous in new places. She does not like to be left alone outside in a fenced area. She is a girl that needs to know that she can trust you. She is incredibly smart and knows all her basic commands. She loves to work and train. She is very polite in the house and will ask before she gets on the sofa. She has greeted all people and animals in a friendly and calm manner.
