Meet Lulu

This is me, Lulu. I am approximately 7 years old. Don’t let my “senior” status fool you, I am a young soul with a playful personality. So why should you adopt me? I am the best of both worlds. I can be energetic and ready for adventure at any moment, but I also have no issue relaxing and curling up with my humans for endless snuggles. I am very good at sensing the energy of others.

I love playing fetch or chewing on a good toy. I am the ultimate “cozy vibes” dog, and will make myself a little nest out of your pillows and blankets so we can binge watch your favorite shows. Beware, I am a bed hog and have no concept of personal space. You are having a bad day? No you aren’t, because I will be there to give you kisses. You want to get more exercise in? Let’s grab my leash and go for a little walk. You needing a little smile? I have loads of smiles to give you. Basically, I am “people" dog. I may need a minute to warm up, but once I do, be prepared to have your heart melted by my cuteness.

I have typical herding and guard dog breed traits, such as high energy, protective of my people, and enjoy chasing any pesky critters off the lawn. I am fearful of other dogs as I was previously attacked by them so I would be better suited in a home with no other dogs. I am slowly working up the courage to meet other dogs and learning that not all of them are big and scary. I will likely not do well with young children or cats either as I don’t do well with quick movements and can get a little excited during play time. I follow basic commands (sit, stay, off, go potty, or scooch (if I am being a bed hog and you want me to move over). I do not need to be crated when left alone, but hide your garbage cans cause I am a curious soul. What’s a dog to do?

--------------------- About our process and fees

Our application: https://laststoprescue.com/adoption-app/
If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il!

We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!

Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.

When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!

Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900

With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
a. Some dogs require additional free training hours before they can go home.
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed!
5. On going support post adoption as long as needed!
We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
