LULU
*House trained
*Crate trained
*Absolutely loves her person
*Walks great on a leash, loves her daily walks
*Moderate energy level - calm in the house and playful in the yard
Lulu is estimated to be 6 years old and is 13lbs.
This adorable, loving and oh so cute little lady is Lulu! She is estimated to be 6 years old and is 13 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.
Lulu lives in a foster home that includes a foster dad, foster mom and 2 college age boys. While she gets along with her foster family very well, she has deemed her foster mom as “her person”. She absolutely adores her foster mom and will shadow her while she is cooking, gardening and all home activities. Lulu’s foster mom works out of the home and Lulu will lie calmly and quietly near her desk while she works. When invited, she loves to curl up on a lap for some cuddle time.
Lulu’s foster home also includes 3 dogs and while she is fine with all, she would probably prefer to be an only dog as she loves getting all the attention she can. While Lulu does not have a prey drive, she has not yet met a cat.
Lulu loves her daily walks. She is so happy when she sees the leash and will sit calmly while you put on her harness. She is great on a leash. She will sit quietly and patiently by your side if you stop to chat with a neighbor. She is great in the car and sits calmly in her dog seat.
Lulu knows the commands Sit and Stay. She will come running back to you when called - though honestly she is never far away! Lulu is not food aggressive and does not resource guard - she will allow you to take toys and food away from her.
Lulu absolutely loves chew toys and her foster mom makes sure to have a variety for her. She loves to run in our fenced-in yard to chase a tennis ball, though will not always bring it back.
Lulu is house-trained. She understands that she should go outside to do her business. Her adoptive family should be prepared to take her out on a reasonable schedule. Lulu is also crate-trained. She actually has an open puppy pen in her foster home where she stays while her foster family is out of the home for errands. Lulu does not try to escape her pen. She keeps her pen clean and will not destroy her bed or toys.
Lulu’s ideal forever home will be one that is calm, with no young children and one where her person is retired, stay-at-home, or works out of the home. Though not severe, Lulu can have separation anxiety and prefers to be with her person. She is certainly a “velcro dog” and will follow you to the ends of the earth!
IMPORTANT MEDICAL INFO: Lulu was recently diagnosed with bladder stones. You Lucky Dog Rescue paid for her stone removal surgery. We also gave her a full dental - no extractions and her teeth are healthy. Lulu recovered very well from her procedures and she back to a healthy, happy little girl. Lulu will need to remain on a special diet for her lifetime - Royal Canine Urinary SO. Lulu’s adopter will need to be dedicated to maintaining her health regiment.
For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.
PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.
The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.
We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
