Meet Lucy Ladybug - a just over 5 year old, 38 pound, Black Lab mix gal.
Lucy Ladybug LOVES her people. Capital letters don't even show you how much we mean that. This girl is sweet as pie around humans. She will spend her days curled up at their feet or if they move - well then she follows them where ever they go. She loves people of all ages and is great with even the smallest kid.
In her foster home she has mastered all the basic commands and is learning more with the use of clicker training. She still pulls a bit on a leash but is improving with training and practice. She loves car rides and also playing in water or going for a swim. And she is trustworthy alone for a little while and outside of her crate, and she is fully housebroken too. Her foster mom says "I joke that she doesn’t know if she’s a bat, pig, goose or dog, And that joke is because she makes a lot of cute little noises that aren't always dog like - but funny she really doesn't bark often at all. She is such a loving and sweet creature!"
Lucy Ladybug is not a fan of sharing spaces with other dogs. She was around dogs down south fine, but since coming north she is reactive to other dogs on walks or when she sees them outside her yard. She will need a family that is patient and understanding, and willing to put in some training time on her reactivity while they enjoy all the love she has to give them.
Lucy Ladybug has been through a lot of changes and just needs a soft place to land with people who are devoted to helping her be the best she can be. And trust us she will remind you every day with her love and devotion why she is worth it!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
