Gets Along With: Other dogs!We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment
Special Adoption Considerations: Lucy is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Lucy is Looking For: Her forever home! Lucy did an amazing job of raising her babies Rand, Rek, Rookie, Rosie, Rucker, and Russ to be amazing family pets, and they're off to their own homes. Now Lucy wants to love and be loved by her own family To have her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up.
Lucy has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and all the loyalty in her heart to lavish upon her humans. What do you say? Is this stubby-legged sweetie the one you see by your side?
