Meet Lucky!

Lucky came to us from the Chehalis fire department. We got a call at 9pm one night asking if we could take in a dog, they had no where for him to go, he had been left at their station by a few homeless people who said he wouldn't stop getting into their stuff. His foster said yes and went and picked him up. Lucky was under weight, had frostbite on his nose and had a spot of ringworm on his leg. He would need time to heal before going for his neuter. It has now been 2 months and he is ready to find his perfect home!

Lucky is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs around 80lbs. Lucky is learning how to be in a crate at night and when we are not home. He is doing better but due to his abandonment he has separation anxiety and broke out of the typical wire kennels we normally use. He is now in a more durable kennel and has no issues and actually enjoys being in it even when the door is open. Inside his kennel he has many durable toys to play with and chew on to keep him busy and take his mind off of the fact that we are not there. He loves squeaky toys and busy bones. He is very treat and food motivated and knows that before he gets a treat he must go into his kennel and sit first.

He also knows how to shake and will try to shake hands with anyone he meets even if they do not ask. Lucky does not like being alone and would love to have a family that would take him with them when they go places. He does very well on car rides and enjoys being able to look out the front window. Lucky walks pretty well on leash but can get excited at times and pull a little but with a quick reminder he will come back next to his person and walk by their side.

Lucky is very protective of his home and will bark when people come through the door or if hears an unusual noise. It took him about a week to adjust to his foster home and the noises there. Anytime we came into the room he would bark at us to which we responded "Lucky it's us" and he would stop barking and happily come give us kisses.

Lucky does well free in the house as all he wants to do is be next to his person or chilling on the couch with a toy and blanket. When he needs to go outside he will go to the door or whimper a little, when you open the door he will go out do his business and come right back to the door and gently paw at it to let you know he is ready to come back inside. Some of his favorite things to do outside are going for walks, playing fetch with a tennis ball, or chasing his friends around the yard. We have a 4ft fence and Lucky has never even made a notion like he might jump it, I believe this is because he would much prefer to be inside with his person than outside exploring.

Lucky is fostered in a home with other dogs, puppies and cats. He has done well with all the dogs he has met and just wants to play with them, he is curious about the puppies and loves to give them kisses. He hasn't had much interaction with the resident cat as the cat tries to avoid the dogs but i think with a proper slow introduction Lucky would do fine with a dog savvy cat. While Lucky is not fostered in a home with children he has met children and loves all the attention he gets from them. I would recommend 8 years or older just because he is a big (sometimes clumsy) dog.

Lucky is a lover (its that Pitbull in him) he MUST give everyone kisses all the time. He likes it even better if he can give you kisses while cuddling with you on the couch in a soft fuzzy blanket. One might say he is clingy as he truly enjoys being at his persons side 24/7. Lucky is a sweet goofy loving dog that just wants a human that will love him as much as he loves them. He will make the most amazing companion to anyone in need of a best friend.

Lucky is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, UTD on vaccines.

He requires a fenced yard.

Lucky's adoption fee is $300.
