Loc Doberman Pinscher Harahan, LA

Meet Loc. He was at a local shelter when GCDR was contacted about him. Unfortunately, we did not have any foster space at that time, and could not take him. Time passed and the next thing we heard is that he had been selected to be euthanized as a teaching opportunity for shelter workers. Somehow/someone pulled Loc off the euthanasia list and we felt we had to make something happen for him. So we put him in boarding and within a short time found an open foster spot.

Loc has blossomed in his foster home. He has proven himself to be great at catch, and was quickly promoted to "trusted" status by his foster family because has exceptional house manners. He is looking to capitalize on this experience by landing a family of his own. He is house and crate trained, knows basic obedience, is good with other dogs and great with puppies.

Loc does have a high prey drive for small critters, so he is not compatible with cats. He is very flexible and you might say proficient with doggy yoga. He can lay flat on the floor, like a frog (could be called downward frog) and he loves to nap upside down in the floating (fish) position. He would be fine with older children, but his natural exuberance (when not napping) would be too much for toddlers.

Loc is about 2 years young and already has a story to tell. He is alive despite the odds. Better yet, he is thriving. Apparently, destiny has not solidified for him. He has written his own happy ending and now just needs to find a family of his own to implement it. He is so loveable and loyal and deserves to find a family that will love him as much as he will love them.

Loc is up-to-date on shots, neutered, microchipped and has been treated by GCDR for heartworms He is kennel and house trained . He is on the small side for a Doberman, but there are a lot of great things packed in there. Hey we all know that sometimes the small package has the best stuff in it - right?
