Meet Lobo

3 year old Lobo is SO beautiful (pictures truly don't do him justice) and weighs about 60 pounds. He is well-behaved, very affectionate, and loves attention! We rescued him and his father, Oso, from a high kill shelter in Texas before they were going to be euthanized for space. He rarely barks and is house & crate trained, displaying good behavior both indoors and outdoors in his foster home. He stops 2 feet from his crate and will sit and wait for his foster mom to pet, kiss, hug him, and then he goes in his crate while he waits for his goodie! Such a sweetheart and loves his people! He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night and travels well in the car. Lobo prefers to be the only dog OR with a female dog of his size! He loves his dad Oso, but his dad Oso is tough on him and they would benefit from separation. Cats and small dogs are less likely to be suitable companions for him in a home due to his prey drive. He would do great in a home with kids and teenagers who understand how to interact with a large dog!

With a moderate activity level, Lobo enjoys walks of varying lengths. A fenced yard or active lifestyle is ideal for Lobo and he is not trained to be off-leash. Lobo responds to basic commands like sit, stay (sometimes), come, heel (for leash walking), and off (for not jumping on people). After overcoming heartworms through treatment, he is now in excellent health. His ideal forever home would be one where he can be the sole recipient of attention or share the attention with a large female dog. Lobo is ready for a loving home to cherish and support him throughout his life. He has been waiting for his furever home since October of 2023 without any true interest due to no fault of his own and we would really love to find him his furever home soon! Could that be you?
