Lizzie German Shepherd Dog Mix Belleville, MI

Hi there! My name is Lizzie and I was transported to FMAR after a nice man found me out in Britain MI and drove me here. He had me a short period of time where I was around his dogs and his granddaughter. He reported that I was a very friendly girl and did amazing in his home, but he already had two dogs and could not keep me. FMAR gladly took me in and checked my leg out with their vet because I had a limp upon arrival. After consulting with an orthopedic surgeon, they suggested letting it heal and keeping me on pain meds so I can live comfortably.

Like any young Shepherd, I have a good deal of energy! I really love playing with tennis balls out in the yard but I haven't quite mastered bringing them back yet. So far I know sit and paw, maybe you can teach me more? I love to please my handlers in a true Shepherd fashion!
I feel that I would do best in a moderately active home with or without children and possibly a doggy brother or sister with proper introduction. I will need some downtime while I am healing from my injury but after that I will be ready for all the adventures that come my way!

She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she has received.

**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
