Meet Lizbeth
Lizbeth was first sighted running loose in WI in Winnebago and Washara Counties
Three months after tracking this girl The wonderful organization “BringToby Home “ was after several attempts able to catch her using a missy trap .
The girl had obviously been without much food , her coat badly matted as well as being covered with ticks and fleas. It has also been reported she may have been hit by a car as in some of the videos the public had sent to Bring Toby Home she was limping .
Ms . Lizbeth crate and all was transported to Oshkosh Area Humane Society where she emotionally completely shut down .
The staff under the watchful eye of manager Jen Ollanketo began working with Lizbeth .
While a chosen few of the staff could handle her Lizbeth was very reluctant to safely be introduced to anyone else . So we at Great Pyr Rescue were asked to step in .
This wonderful shelter allowed us to visit along with their staff 6 times until Lizbeth was able to make the transition to our rescue .
Lizbeth’s past will forever remain unknown . While several parties contacted the shelter hoping Lizbeth was their lost Pyr it was not to be so .
Lizbeth will require much work learning to trust before she can be placed .
I want to thank Diane Sanderfoot and Julie Courchene of Bring Toby Home for their tireless efforts to bring this girl and so many others like her home all while working their day jobs !
I also want to give many kudos to Oshkosh Animal shelter specifically Jenny and Leah for working with Lisbeth and personally connecting with her . And to Jen their manager for going the extra mile when I believe many shelters would have given up .
The future is still uncertain for Lisbeth but each week I feel we are moving in the right direction .
Lisbeth was one of two strays we took in over the last few months . The third stray in Sheboygan County is still at large . And the fourth unfortunately succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a vehicle .
Takes a village !
