I'm quite the little protégée too! lol I wish I could tell you what my old name was, but I can't obviously since I can't talk. I was dropped off at the shelter as a 'stray' in the freezing cold of winter and immediately slated for euthanasia 5 days later; not through any fault of my own or because of anything I did wrong, but simply because I had been neglected by my previous owners who did not take me to a vet on a regular basis, or feed me good food, so I needed expensive vetting done to make me healthy again, all of which the shelter cannot afford, nor receives funding for. Therefore, there was no other alternative for little ol' me... UNLESS rescue stepped up. Apparently I needed my dental done (cleaning and extractions) as well as being what you call 'neutered' and given all my vaccinations before I could start my search for my new home. Thank YOU Loyal Rescue Inc. for stepping up and saving me JUST in time. A Loyal Rescue Inc. volunteer came to get me on the day I was slated to be 'put to sleep.' I just don't understand why my previous owners didn't care enough about me to come looking for me or to take proper care of my health when I was with them. I heard the people at the shelter say that I was very thin and underweight; all I know is that it was very cold at the shelter and all I did was shiver. For 5 days I lived in fear of what fate lay ahead for me. I can't believe my luck now that I've been saved! I know just how lucky I am to make it out of that shelter. I'm a really good boy who was loved by my previous owner; I just wasn't loved and taken care of in ALL the proper ways. I get along with other dogs of ALL kinds BIG and small and I LOVE my humans too! I especially love laps and snuggling. I'm a friendly, playful little guy just looking for someone to love me in ALL the right ways for the rest of my days. I still have a very long life ahead of me as they think I'm about 6 years old.   And now a few words from my foster mom: 'Little John' came to us quite by accident when a rescue volunteer came across him in a shelter and realized just how special he was after meeting and spending time with him. In spite of how frightened he must have been, he was still very friendly and affectionate and didn't appear to have any behavioural issues that would make him un-desirable for adoption... BUT he did need a lot of expensive vetting done. When I first met him at the shelter, he came right into my arms and has never looked back. He's full speed ahead and looking forward to his future now; a FOREVER future with his new home and family who will love and care for him unconditionally in ALL the right ways and not just snuggling and showing him love, but feeding him good food and taking him for regular vet visits. I can't say enough about Little John! He is personality plus and quite the wee character. He is a very friendly, sweet and such an ohhhh so easy going, laid back kinda guy! Little John is mostly house trained and working diligently at perfecting his house training skills. He likes to please. He is such a good boy and so easy to get along with. He fit right in immediately with our pack here, so he overcomes easily and has the most amazing temperament. Little John believes in second chances now that an Angel has answered his prayers on that miracle day when he was saved. Could you be Little John's miracle #2? His second chance forever home?
