Meet Lovely Lily

Lily is a 9 year old Beagle / Sheltie mix. Her owner was an older man who became ill and was unable to care for her. Our friends at the Animal Angel Rescue Foundation found out she was in need and immediately got her into care. They provided Lily with her necessary vetting and she is now in one of our foster homes until we find her forever home.

This isn’t Lily’s first time in rescue. She was originally rescued from a horrible puppy mill in Kentucky back in 2016. She was with her owner until his recent illness. He loved Lily and helped her gain confidence after coming from such a terrible start.

Needless to say, Lily is very deserving and despite all of the challenges she has endured, she is sweet and loving. Lily likes to be close to her people. Her foster parents work from home and she prefers to be close to them during the day, often sleeping at their feet as they work.

Lily is friendly with people. She is a bit nervous at first but responds well to a calm and gentle approach. She was the only dog in her previous home. She may be ok sharing her home with another older, calm and friendly dog but a meet and greet(s) would be necessary.

She is not reactive to other dogs on her walks but due to her age she is not suitable for an off leash park. She loves her walks and is good on leash. Lily is a bit unsettled by loud traffic noises so a quiet neighbourhood would be perfect.

She has not lived with children and because she an older dog, we feel she is best suited to a quiet, calm, adult home. She would not do well being left alone for long hours every day. Lily is used to having someone with her during the day.

Lily is housetrained and well mannered in the home. She enjoys car rides. Lily is a good eater. She loves her food and treats.

Lily weighs about 33 pounds. She recently had dentistry. She also had a large lipoma removed for the side of her chest. She has recovered well. She had a full geriatric blood panel with good results. She is spayed and up to date on rabies vaccine.
We will soon be updating her DA2PP vaccine.
She is negative for heart worm and tick borne diseases. She gets monthly flea / tick / heart worm prevention.
