Lilo (Lee-low) Labrador Retriever Hawkins, TX

Meet Lilo, a beautiful girl, has been with us since November 17th and has completed a 30-day in-house obedience training with Circle Star. Lilo thrived during this training, which was designed not because of any behavioral issues like aggression (she had none), but to reinforce her good behavior, establish boundaries (e.g., no counter surfing), and address her selective hearing. Although she already knew basic commands such as sit, down, settle, and roll over before training, she has learned even more new commands.

Lilo is also working on playing calmly with other dogs and learning how to handle introductions. At about 18 months old, she is an active dog who loves to stay busy. She was previously adopted for about three weeks, but unfortunately, due to a lack of continued training and boundary-setting, her playful, puppy-like behavior wasn’t a good fit for her previous adopters.

Lilo needs a loving home with space to run, a job to keep her engaged, and reinforce training. She does perfectly on a leash and is very much an independent dog who naturally assumes the role of leader in any pack.
