Lilly, 7-year-old, spayed female, Labrador retriever mix, 45lbs. Lilly is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!
Lovely Lilly has captured the hearts of everyone that has met her! Lilly was on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space at a crowded Houston shelter when her foster mom stepped up to save her. She has shown her love and gratitude in full force since then!
Lilly has a happy go lucky demeanor and is sure to brighten all of your days! She loves to play tug of war with rope toys and fetch with the ball! She may be 7, but she’s got plenty of energy for playtime!
Lilly is best described as independent, curious, sweet, affectionate, loyal, a shadow for her humans, and a perfect mixture of playful with good energy and cuddling on the sofa.
Lilly has done well with having a foster doggy sibling, and really enjoys playing with her humans! She loves to give everybody kisses and even does so while meeting other dogs on her walks (although her true interest is looking at the squirrels she spots on her outings). Lilly has been around her foster’s cat and has responded to being recalled when she’s showing a bit too much interest. Since Lilly is so sweet and loving she is also likely to get along with kids, however, she has not been tested with them yet.
Lilly is crate-trained and potty-trained! She does get a bit possessive over food, so we recommend feeding her separately from any resident dogs, however, she has had no issues with humans handling her food. When Lilly needs to go in or out of the house she will even politely tap the door to let you know!
Lilly’s ideal home is one that is moderately active. She loves to be outside and go for long walks, so if you’re looking for a nature girlie look no further! She would enjoy a home with or without other dogs, since her main love is her humans. After a long day, she’d love nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch! Her main interest is following her humans wherever they go, eager to use her adorable puppy eyes whenever she gets the chance.
Lilly has all the benefits of an older dog in terms of training but is still super playful and energetic. She’s the perfect combo!
