Levi German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Meet Levi - a gorgeous, 4 year old coated GSD that was trapped in the Elgin area after running loose for weeks. It was clear he was someone’s dog as he was neutered and knew commands. Levi was held at animal control, but no one stepped up to reclaim him. He was very stressed in the shelter environment. A foster home stepped up to save him from euthanasia, and now Levi is looking for an experienced adoptive home. Later we did find Levi’s original family, however they no longer wanted him.

Levi’s adopters will need to continue to socialize him and work on his training. He can initially be reactive meeting new people. Levi is very sweet and playful with his foster mom and people he is comfortable with. He is crate trained and housebroken, though occasionally likes to get into the trash. Levi will need a home with a physically fenced yard. While he’s a young GSD, he is not high energy. He enjoys his bully sticks and playing with his toys. He does get anxious on car rides - long road trips aren’t his thing. Levi is leash reactive towards other dogs and would do best as the only pet in his home or with slow introductions. Levi has a lot of potential to thrive in the right home!
