Meet Leo

Meet Leo! Sadly Leo found himself on an euthanasia list recently. He was terrified in the shelter and was very shut down. Luckily we had fosters step up for him (and his brother!) so that he could take his freedom ride to Iowa. He came into rescue and is now thriving.

Leo is approximately 1-2 years of age. 18lbs. His foster mom says he is kennel trained. He does very well with potty training.

Leo is very shy with new people. He LOVES other dogs though, so another dog in his new home will help him thrive. Due to his shyness older kids are recommended. He does awesome walking on a leash in the neighborhood though, meeting neighborhood dogs, seeing people out and about. Etc though. A fenced yard is preferred, but may not be required for the right fit home.

Leo has come a long way in a very short time! He wants to be with his foster mom whenever possible. He loves all his fur- siblings, large and small. He does play hard, so little dogs may not the best fit.

If you would like to meet Leo, please fill out an application at adoptapal.org/adopt. His foster mom would be happy to arrange a private meet and greet for approved applicants, so that you can see him in a setting where he really shines and isn't so scared.

Animal Care Standards
Spay and Neuter: All animals are spayed or neutered before adoption. In cases where the animal is too young, adopters must sign a spay or neuter agreement to ensure the procedure is completed later by a certain date with one of our trusted veterinarians.
Health Measures: Every animal is microchipped and up to date on:
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Preventatives
- Heartworm testing (if age-appropriate)
- Deworming
Pet Insurance: Adopted animals come with one month of free pet insurance, providing immediate coverage with no waiting period.

How to Apply
To start the adoption process, please follow these steps:
1. Visit www.adoptapal.org/adopt
2. Scroll down the page until the adoption application form appears.

Out-of-State Adoptions
We welcome out-of-state adopters under the following conditions:

- You are required to visit in person to meet the animal before finalizing the adoption. If the animal you’re applying to adopt is a dog, you must bring existing dogs in the home with you to do a meet and greet.

*Important Reminders*
- Adopt A Pal is a small organization run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to all inquiries.
- Your patience and understanding mean the world to us as we work tirelessly to match our animals with loving homes.

Thank you for considering adoption through Adopt A Pal. Together, we can make a difference for animals in need!
