Meet Lena

Wiggly Gummy Bear Lena

Lena is a lovable, squishy, wiggly gummy bear, most likely an Australian Cattle Dog / Terrier mix. Lena is very friendly with people, including kiddos, and is great with other friendly dogs! Lena is a fur missile when she's getting her zoomies out. When called, she will run full-speed at you and then brake just in time to drop over onto her back and shimmy-slide until she gets her belly rubs. When she's being petted, Lena doesn't want for anything; it's like someone hit an off switch, and she just smiles big and takes in the TLC. This waggle worm loves car rides and is very good at balancing her portly-petite frame. She would love adventuring and hiking. Ultimately, a home where Lena is loved and given stimulation is going to be the best fit. And if you like training your dog, Lena loves hand-feeding and being worked for obedience. She offers very quickly and has been known to spin, roll over, shake, and hug on command. If this jiggle bear sounds like the perfect fit for you and your family, please fill out an adoption interest form!

Will you be a Hero in Lena's story?

**We strongly recommend you go ahead and complete an Adoption Interest Form as we receive many inquiries but give preference to those completing the REQUIRED Adoption Interest Form.* www.rarerescue.org/adoption-process

Those interested in adoption that have submitted an Adoption Interest Form will be attended to before general inquiries. We may or may not have time to respond to general inquiries if you have not submitted the required Adoption Interest Form.

We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason

All of our Adoptables are:
Spayed/neutered
Up to date on vaccines
Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program)
Microchipped prior to adoption

BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.

ADOPTION FEES: Our Adoption Fees vary based on adoptability to help all of the animals in our organization.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.

Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.  As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.

***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.

Thank you for choosing to adopt or foster and aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
