Keep in mind, we are two women with full time jobs, we volunteer to run this Rescue and foster these dogs in our homes. We have families and farms of our own we take care of as well. We will give you all the time we can but, ask for your patience and attention to detail to make the application process flow smoothly and as quickly as possible.

Lei came to us as an owner surrender. An elderly woman received them (he and his littermate brother) as a gift from her adult children. She had not asked for them, they were a surprise. This happens so often it's unbelievable, really. Puppies should NOT be given as gifts and your senior parent should never be surprised with one puppy, let alone two! Littermates should ALWAYS be separated and training a puppy is A LOT of work. Rant over
Lei is a 5.5 month old male purebred Pug. We have had him neutered and brought his vaccines up to date. He is doing REALLY well on housebreaking, but needs diligent supervision to continue his training. He is crate trained now, for nighttime sleeping. His is leash trained and extremely well socialized. He is a little bit hard headed and sometimes questions your commands. He sometimes thinks "he'll decide" so it's very important you are a firm, competent leader and can continue on with his training in a positive, confident way so that he won't become a spoiled brat! Pugs are notorious over eaters and so you must also be able to practice conscience feeding schedules and not be a big "treater" for nothing more than the sake of giving. If you know your spouse is a notorious over treater, you know what I'm talking about! Obesity, and it's related illnesses, is the #1 killer of Puggies, next to being overheated. Care must be taken to keep them cool, yet still get out and get the exercise in. Lei will make an excellent little companion dog for the next 14-16 years with proper diet and exercise. He's very personable, very loyal already and just as cute as a bug in a rug.
