Meet Larry
Meet Larry!
This sweet "wanna be lap dog" says getting cuddles and pets are his favorite thing to do.
Deets: 64 lbs of handsomeness, big noggin and a huge capacity for love.
Dream job: Toy tester! He is a strong chewer and loves heavy duty toys and rubber squeaky balls. No fluffy ones as they are just no match for him, although he would be happy to check them out for you.
Larry has spent some time in a loving foster home where we learned so much about him! He is a bit of a couch potato, and expects you to share your space and cuddle freely. He is fully potty trained and is quite the gentleman in a home. He'd always greet his foster parents at the door with a big tail wag and some kisses when they would return home after being gone.
He is a pretty low energy guy, he loves to play with a ball at lunchtime and then requires an immediate nap. Sometimes he prefers to lay with his ball instead of playing fetch, but if you get him excited, he would love to play fetch with you.
Larry is sociable with other dogs, but did let us know when he was in foster with their family dog that he does not like to share, so it would be best if he were the only dog. Larry was rescued from a hoarding situation, so we understand why he would like to enjoy his own space and toys.
Larry underwent heart worm treatment when he first came under our care. All clear now!! Oot oot!! In order to keep him from getting heartworm again in the future, he will need heartworm preventatives every month and yearly tests done.
His perfect home would be one that has lots of love to give and where cuddles are a part of the daily routine. Kiddos are great, but should be 12+ please, as he gets overwhelmed by the excitement of younger kids.
As with all of our dogs, a meet n greet with all resident family members is needed prior to becoming a part of your family to make sure it is a perfect match. He cannot remember if he has met a cat or not, we would be happy to cat test and gauge his reaction if you have a feline family member in the home.
