Lana Shepherd Mix Houston, TX

Meet Lana,

Dumped in a ditch in the middle of the night. The years of abuse and neglect have taken their toll and weakened this precious girl's body and spirit. This Shepherd girl was not even 40lbs, mere skin and bones with hind legs so weak she struggled to stand or walk. Her ears are in such terrible shape that we are not certain if they were cut by a person or if they have been mangled from insects eating them.

Lana was rescued by the team at the Houston Dog Ranch and they reached out to us for help with getting her medical attention and into a rescue group for adoption after not finding a microchip or owners. She was able to get the medical attention she needed and has now been spayed, vaccinated, and has gained the weight she needed.

Lana is now at a boarding facility who has truly let her blossom now that she is safe and cared for. Lana is so incredibly sweet. She still does floor crawl when going to new places or meeting new people, but she has come a long way! She is loyal and affectionate to the people she trusts. We have not tested her yet with other dogs or cats, but she has not shown any reactivity yet.

Lana is estimated to be about 5-7 years old, she weighs about 50-55lbs now and she is heartworm positive. She is currently on slow kill heartworm treatment method.
