Hello, I’m Kumar!
I came to the shelter with my brother, Harold, on 10/30/23 and while my brother got adopted right away, I have spent nearly a YEAR waiting for my forever home. Staff and volunteers alike say I’m a Good Boy! Though I am continually overlooked by adopters.

I’m a sweet, rambunctious dog who wants nothing more than to find his person. I am a snuggly boy and love belly rubs more than anything. Playtime with a good squeaky toy in the yard is also one of my favorite activities! On leash I am still learning how to be polite, sometimes I get excited and play tug of war with my leash, but other times I am calm and serene. A strong person to handle me would be best as I don’t always know my own strength and I’m big dog..(though I still act like a puppy!)

I would prefer a home with no cats as I may want to chase them. I am very food motivated and love attention, so these things combined make me a snap to positively train. I know how to sit and wait patiently to take treats. This helps me improve my impulse control. Since I am still learning not to jump, I would prefer to be in a house with kids 10 and older so I don’t knock anyone over. I get along with other dogs well as long as they can keep up with my excitement and my large size which can be scary for some dogs.

I have been neutered, am up to date on my rabies, DAPP vaccines, and have been micro-chipped too. My adoption fee is $150 (+ $20 county dog license, if residing within Jefferson County).
