Kozy Border Collie Mix Minneapolis, MN

Kozy is a sweet, engaging & easy-going 8-month-old Border Collie mix. His name is derived from the Danish term "hygge," referring to a cozy, warm feeling of contentment. He loves to learn and wants to please his people. Currently 32#, not likely to get much bigger.

This lovable pup enjoys life’s simple pleasures: giving warm hugs, receiving human affection, and relaxing with a bone by the fireplace. Playing with other dogs and mirroring their behaviors is high up on his list of favorites – he’s a social butterfly. He’s been listening to holiday tunes, getting ready for a celebration with his own family. "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is his favorite so far!

Kozy is adaptable and ready for anything his family wants to do: making a snowman, inviting friends over for a gathering or diving into that new Netflix series on a cold evening. With a medium energy level, he wants a routine of daily exercise and play plus lots of time as a family. He will definitely make winter more fun!

He has a puppy-like interest in life, excitedly checking out the world and happily greeting new friends. Great on leash, housetrained, seeks out his crate for naps, and learning basic manners in his foster home. Obedience classes are a must to continue his understated, confident approach to life and help him be the best boy.

He displays thoughtful, gentle herding tendencies - not frantic or intense. Kozy meets youngsters nicely, and no doubt over time will display his Border Collie roots and help them move from place to place. Families with herding experience are preferred, especially if young kids are in the mix. We think he would adjust well to a home with cats.

Kozy is being fostered in Hudson, WI.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Kozy's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
